Alma Rosa Wins Green Award from Central Coast Magazine

Central Coast Magazine’s cover article for their January/February 2010 issue is the Green Awards they are giving to seven innovators.  Alma Rosa Winery is named one of the winners, and in the piece it is written that Alma Rosa is “the gold standard for the organic wine industry in California and the world”.  Tremendous praise for Richard and Thekla Sanford’s efforts.  See the article here.

Greenopia looks at sustainable wineries – Alma Rosa heads list

Greenopia, a leading advocate of sustainability, undertook this past July a landmark study in which it examined the environmental impact of 25 wineries.  Criteria in evaluating the wineries included growing practices, transportation, building logistics and wine packaging.

Alma Rosa was one of the wineries examined, and one of three wineries to achieve the top rating of three stars, tremendous recognition of the work Richard and Thekla Sanford have done for nearly forty years in making sure environmental concerns are a priority in their life’s work.
