MAX Carmenere

Aconcagua Valley

The grapes for the Carmenere Max Reserva come from vines planted more than 20 years ago at the winery\'s home base in the Aconcagua Valley. They are sourced from three plots: Max V, Max VI and Max VII. The area has an extended dry season with moderately warm summer days that are cooled by gentle afternoon breezes that blow in from the Pacific. The vertically trained vines are drip irrigated and planted in sandy-loam soils with very good drainage. Because canopy management of this late ripening variety is essential for good ripening, selective leaf pulling is carried out 5-6 weeks before harvest.

Deep violet in color, the Max Reserva Carmenere displays aromas of spice and black fruit on the nose, along with  black pepper, toast and a long, silky palate. This voluptuous, juicy wine is generous in soft tannins, and its tremendous concentration and typicity promise excellent cellaring potential.
