"Deep ruby. Ripe cherry and dark berry aromas are complicated by candied licorice and mocha. Supple and deep on entry, then livelier in the mid-palate, offering sweet blackberry and mulberry flavors sharpened by peppery spices. Supple tannins add shape to the long, smoky, nicely finish." 90 Points International Wine Cellar

"Focused on fruit, this carmenere emphasizes blackberry and cherry flavors in a simple line, along with soft touches of pepper. The lovely texture and rich depth of flavor are its best assets." 90 Points Wine & Spirits Magazine, Best Buy

"Deep red. Fresh red and dark berries, violet and minerals on the aromatic nose. Suave and attractively sweet on the palate, offering lively blackcurrant and cherry flavors and a hint of vanilla. Packs a solid punch but this wine is quite elegant and seamless. The finish repeats the cherry note and clings with very good tenacity." 90 Points International Wine Cellar

Grapes were hand-harvested and sorted. Fermentation took place in steel tanks and, unique to the Carmenere at Errazuriz, aeraeative pumpovers were carried out until fermentation ended. This reduced herbaceous traces and enhanced the excellent expression of the wine’s fruit character. The wine was aged in 80% new barrels (80% French and 20% American) for 12 months.
Deep plum-red in color, this wine shows the classic traits of the variety. The nose is ripe but complex, with aromas that recall fresh blackberries and notes of sweet spice. A swirl of the glass reveals a light touch of black pepper that lends complexity and elegance. The voluminous palate is complemented by a soft, creamy texture with well-rounded tannins in this big-bodied wine. The flavor of roasted red pepper subtle toasted notes linger long on the finish, confirming the sweetness and depth achieved this year in the Carmenère at Errazuriz.-
"The 2008 Carmenere Single Vineyard contains small amounts of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. It sports an expressive nose of mineral/earth notes, violets, soy, blackberry, and blueberry. On the palate, it is mouth-filling, chewy, and pleasure-bent. There is a bit of underlying structure suggesting that this tasty Carmenere might evolve for 1-2 years but it can be approached now." 90 Points Wine Advocate

"Inky ruby. Roasted cherry, plum, tobacco, licorice and dried flowers on the intriguingly Bordeaux-like nose and palate. Sweet and juicy, with precise flavor definition and lift. Finishes with supple, broad tannins and very good spicy length. Shows a lot of personality, not to mention impressive balance and clarity." 90 Points International Wine Cellar

2007 Vintage
The 2006-07 season registered temperatures that were quite low during the January through April ripening period and, as a result, the maturation process was slower than usual. Low yields and cool conditions helped the grapes reach good levels of maturity, with rich flavours, sweet and very high quality tannins, and maintain excellent acidity.
