Pinot Gris

Langhorne Creek
The Heartland Pinot Gris features sumptuous fruit flavors that are balanced by a crisp, dry, flinty finish, making it the perfect accompaniment to richly flavored foods. Dry, medium-bodied and unoaked, this wine features a touch of Viognier.   The Pinot Gris and Viognier are vinified separately, with four harvest dates to provide contrasting levels of ripeness. The Pinot Gris undergoes a short period of skin contact to enhance the palate structure. The Viognier is crushed, chilled and pressed immediately. Cool ferment in stainless steel is followed by lees stirring, and the wine is bottled early to retain aromatics and freshness.
Pale lemon green in color, the Pinot Gris displays an attractive nose with hints of melon, pear and apple blossom. The palate is fresh and lively with a touch of spice and citrus. The tannin of Pinot Gris adds firmness and structure to the palate and a hint of Viognier contributes to the luscious mouthfeel.
