Grand Cru

The parcel of Batard-Montrachet Lucien Le Moine works with is one of the most beautiful vineyards, physically, they work with - it has very old vines that are very well worked, and well protected.  They are taken care of by a great grower.  The wine that results has pushed Lucien Le Moine not to make a Montrachet in a number of years (2001, 2003, 2006).  It’s so big and powerful, and also a wine of dryness and class; an elegant gentleman.  It’s an expensive wine because they pay at almost Montrachet prices.  The wine ferments very slowly, sometimes it can ferment 25 months, can take 6 months for the malolactic.
