Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

First produced in 1981, this wine has become the benchmark for quality in Abruzzo. Comprised of 100% Montepulciano from 6 vineyards ranging in elevation from 435 to 1,200 feet, the fruit is destemmed prior to fermentation in stainless steel, which keeps the wine fresh and bright.
A late-ripening variety, Montepulciano produces wines of soft acidity, mild tannin and bright red berry and cherry fruit with a distinct spicy character. This wine is intended to be consumed in its youth and is a terrific complement to roasted meats, pastas and pizza – a true trattoria wine.
