The Buying Guide of the May 2017 issue of Wine Enthusiast features the 2011 Casisano Brunello di Montalcino. Wine editor Kerin O’Keefe awarded the Brunello 92 points, noting the wine as having “aromas of Mediterranean scrub, underbrush, berry, licorice and balsamic.” Kerin goes on to say “the aromas carry through to the rounded palate along with the juicy cherry, grilled herb, cured meat, clove and toasted note. Polished tannins provide the framework.”

The Capital Gazette featured the Casisano Brunello di Montalcino in its regular wine column. At the end of the story wine writer Tom Marquardt lists his top Wine Picks for the week, including the Casisano Brunello di Montalcino. “Intense but targeted aromas with delicious dark berry and spice flavors. Well balanced and long in the finish, this is an outstanding wine.”

Newsday, the main newspaper of Long Island and Queens, featured the Amarone 2012 and Casisano Brunello di Montalcino “Wines from Italy to give at the holidays” in the newspapers Drinks section. Wine writer Peter Gianotti included the two Tommasi wines in this gift guide for “the imbiber who savors the flavors of Italy.” Peter notes that the Amarone is “excellent now but also will mature for holidays over the years.” The Casisano Brunello is noted for its “finesse and flair, plus a harvest of dark fruit.”

The Daily Meal featured the Casisano Brunello di Montalcino in the holiday wine roundup “Pour Some Holiday Cheer: Five Fantastic Red Wines for the Naughty and Nice!” Wine writer Wanda Mann writes of the Brunello that it is “one of Italy’s most important wines and this beauty from the famed Tommasi family is a lovely expression of the varietal.” This holiday wine roundup was also featured on Wanda’s personal blog The Black Dress Traveler.

Wine writer Michael Muckian featured the Tommasi family, Amarone 2012 and Casisano Brunello di Montalcino 2011 in the Wisconsin Gazette. The story, “Simply Red for Sipping with Santa,” recommending a few stand-out reds and highlighting the four generation Tommasi family winemaking business, as well as its new vineyard acquisition of Casisano. He notes that the Amarone is “full-bodied and luscious” and “just the wine to reward a long night of holiday preparations.” An image of the Tommasi family and a large bottle image of the Casisano Brunello is included in the story.
