29 August 2013 News’s Diana Goodman posted an article in honor of Chateau Montelena’s recognition in the National Register of Historic Places. Goodman writes that it is recognized for the estate’s role in helping put Napa Valley wines on the international map with the success at the 1976 Judgment of Paris. “Chateau Montelena originally applied for recognition of its the stone chateau and winery, completed by Alfred Tubbs in 1888, and owned and operated by the Barrett family since 1972.
