Below is a menu from a Commanderie de Bordeaux dinner that Fred Ek recently attended in Boston.  He supplied many of the (incredible) wines from his own cellar, and poured blind with Chateau Cheval Blanc 1952 and Chateau Pavie 1952 a “Mystery Wine” that turned out to be Chateau Recougne 1952.  Two of the titans of the right bank against a humble Bordeaux Superieur – the clear consenus was that the Recougne was outstanding, far superior to the Pavie and not behind the Cheval Blanc.  Pretty amazing.
