Tom Mullen of Forbes highlights the incredible Ornellaia auction held by Sotheby’s in London. He states “Kentridge and Heinz—artist and winemaker—spoke last week at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London, when nine lots of Ornellaia—an icon wine from Tuscany in Italy—were auctioned by Sotheby’s Wine. These included imperials (six liters each), double magnums (three liters each) and a Salmanazar (nine liters). The proceeds of £123,000 sterling ($163,500) from the auction were donated to the museum.”

Each year, Ornellaia holds a charity auction for its latest vintage release. In her recent piece on Decanter, Ellie Douglas highlights the auction held by Sotheby’s at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. South African artist William Kentridge is this year’s ‘Vendemmia d’Artista’ – or artist of the vintage – for Ornellaia, which is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its first vintage with the 2015 release.  The 2015 art project is entitled ‘Il Carisma’.
