A recent Decanter article goes into detail on how more and more buyers are looking to Italy for investment wines, and included Sandrone’s Barolo Le Vigne in one of its benchmarks.  As Bordeaux flounders, SuperTuscans and Barolos are filling the French wine’s shoes.  Merchants are altering their portfolios, auction houses are making more space for Italian wines, and investment funds are adding the wines to their holdings.  SuperTuscans have tripled in price in the last ten years.  With the appreciation of Italian wines growing, buyers are exploring Piedmont as an alternative.  The author includes the Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne in the benchmark for Piedmont wines, which has appreciated by an average of 43% over the last decade.
