France’s most important wine publication, La Revue du Vin de France, does a feature on the top wines of Beaune, which in their words deserve more renown and offer great value today in comparison to other Burgundy appellations.  Domaine Chansons’ 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc 2012 is featured on the cover, and inside the issue absolutely dominates the reviews, with the top-rated wines from Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes (red), Beaune 1er Cru Champimont (red), Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches (white), Beaune 1er Cru Les Marconnets (red) and the second-rated red from Beaune 1er Cru Clos du Roi and second-rated “other appellation” jumbo category with Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Feves.

A truly virtuoso performance for the wines with comments like “remarkable”, “noble”, “classic”, and “rare precision” popping off the page among a group of wines that included some of the great small domaines of Burgundy as well as the best-regarded larger producers.
