We’re happy to share that Pierangelo Tommasi’s interview with wine editor Howard Hewitt for the Journal Review, a local Indianapolis newspaper, is now live online, entitled “Amarone an underappreciated wine.” Howard introduces Pierangelo and the Tommasi winemaking family, noting that “when a business is rooted with such history, the passion is easy to understand.” He describes the intricate Amarone winemaking process, adding in quotes from Pierangelo about the wine, in which he notes Amarone “is a wine one can proudly serve for special occasions, paired with red meats and ripe cheeses.” This article was syndicated onto The Herald Bulletin Online.

 The Filodora Prosecco was mentioned in four recent issues of Texas Weddings Magazine (December 23, Janaury 4, February 6 and February 12). In the latest issue, editor Laurette Veres lists her must-haves for the winter, recommending Tommasi Filodora as the perfect bottle to have on hand for “showers, cocktail parties and more.” Click here to download the latest clip, which appeared in the February 12 issue.

Tommasi 2013 Amarone was featured in “Good wine choices for Passover and other special occasions” in the Cape Gazette (online version of Delaware’s weekly newspaper). Editor John McDonald details the Amarone winemaking process, and recommends the wine for “those who enjoy raisin nuances.”

Tommasi’s 2015 Rafael Valpolicella was featured in wine writer Joe Roberts’ weekly wine reviews on 1WineDude, his personal blog, highlighting notes of “leather, sweet cherries, and dried spices.” Joe recommends pairing the Rafael with a beef stew on a particularly cold evening. We are excited to share that Tommasi’s Casisano Brunello 2012 was featured on Buzzfeed, a food, drink and lifestyle website with incredibly high traffic that often posts lifestyle and personality quizzes. The 2012 Casisano Brunello di Montalcino is featured as an answer in the quiz “Plan Your Valentine’s Day And We’ll Give You A Wine And Movie Date.” While taking the quiz, if you pick all of the most rich and decadent answers you are given the choice of the Casisano Brunello as the wine you should serve on the romantic evening. Editor Hannah Loewentheil recommends the Brunello as a decadent Valentine’s Day choice, perfect for those who want to “go a step above the ordinary,” describing the wine as “velvety, elegant, and slightly spicy.”

The Baltimore Sun, online version of the daily Maryland daily newspaper, featured the Tommasi 2012 Casisano Brunello di Montalcino in “Wine is the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day.” Wine writers Tom Marquardt and Patrick Darr recommend a selection of wines for Valentine’s Day, noting that if you’re planning a dinner of Italian pasta or steak, “there is nothing more luxurious and romantic than Brunello di Montalcino.” This roundup ran also ran in the The Capital Gazette, Maryland Gazette, and the Carroll County Times, all Maryland/Delaware newspapers. All 4 Lifestyles & Homes publications (a collection of regional luxury & lifestyle Texas magazines) featured the 2013 Tommasi Amarone and 2014 Tommasi Poggio al Tufo Rompicollo online in “New Year, New Shopping List.” Wine writer Denman Moody advises readers to purchase both Tommasi wines in 2018, specifically describing the Amarone as “unusually rich and satisfying,” and recommending it with “cambozola and Triscuits.” This story also ran in the February 2018 print edition of Fort Bend Lifestyles & Homes.

USA Today Online featured the 2012 Tommasi Casisano Brunello di Montalcino in “Good wine for less than $20? Absolutely, with a little expert advice.” Wine writer Steve Prati features the Brunello as an “Italian jewel” noting it is not in the $20 price range but is considered “one of Italy’s finest and longest-lived wines.” Steve notes the Tommasi Brunello has “aromas of herbs, spice and savory balsamic” and “flavors of ripe fruit: tart cherry and black raspberry. Underneath it all, like the foundation of an ancient Italian castle, are richly textured tannins.”

The Wall Street Journal featured the 2013 Tommasi Amarone in “Yes, Wine Lovers Actually Can Pair Amarone With Food.” Wine editor Lettie Teague dined with chef Mario Carlino of Divina Ristorante, during which they tried 10 bottles of current vintage Amarones. In chef Mario’s opinion, most were too young to pair with food, but 5 wines made the cut. Lettie notes “Mario and I both found the lithe, textured 2013 Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico ($58) remarkably drinkable despite its youth.” This article ran in last Saturday’s newspaper, as well as online.
