Rosé Majeur is the perfect embodiment of the originality and finesse of the House’s wines. Made predominantly from Chardonnay, it is crafted with the addition of a small proportion of still Pinot Noir from the best crus of the Montagne de Reims. A low dosage enables it to express the House style, both feminine and generous, with great elegance. The very high proportion of Chardonnay and the aging process result in a Champagne with remarkable finesse.

Brut Rosé Majeur shines with freshness on the palate, offering immediate pleasure and well-balanced flavors.

Vineyard

Ayala currently owns 35 acres in Champagne. Thanks to its privileged location in the heart of the Grand Crus of Montagne de Reims and their link to Bollinger, they also have unique access to top quality grapes.

Winemaking

Brut Rosé Majeur is a blend of Chardonnay (51%), Pinot Noir (40%) and Pinot Meunier (9%). The very high proportion of Chardonnay and the aging process result in a Champagne with remarkable finesse and elegance. Everything from grape reception to vinification, aging, riddling and disgorgement is done at the Ayala cellars. Brut Rosé Majeur is fermented in stainless steel, with a focus on freshness and precision. It spends 2.5 years on the lees and rests in the cellar for at least 3 months after disgorgement.

Tasting Note

“A cleverly arranged nose with saturated rose-like perfume layered into ripe expressive peaches, strawberries and wild dark cherries. The palate holds that darker cherry edge with real style and balance. Terrific. Drink now.” – 93 Points, James Suckling

Reviews

"citrus zest accent the juicy white cherry"

Wine Spectator - "Aromatic notes of fresh basil, spice and citrus zest accent the juicy white cherry and biscuit flavors of this fresh rosé Champagne. The firm, focusing acidity is well-meshed to the fine mousse and flavor range. Disgorged March 2017."

"Strong tenacity and repeating floral character"

Vinous Media - “Bright orange-pink. Fresh strawberry and tangerine on the lively floral nose and in the mouth. Spicy and incisive, with sappy red fruit and rose pastille flavors underscored by juicy acidity and a subtle chalky nuance. A mineral element adds bite to the finish, which hangs on with strong tenacity and repeating floral character. Six percent of the Pinot Noir component in this blend is in the form of still Pinot Noir from vineyards in the Montagne de Reims.”

"real style and balance. Terrific."

James Suckling - "A cleverly arranged nose with saturated rose-like perfume layered into ripe expressive peaches, strawberries and wild dark cherries. The palate holds that darker cherry edge with real style and balance. Terrific."
