Wine Searcher contributor Margaret Rand writes about the Ornellaia Vendemmia d’Artista gala dinner and auction at the Victoria & Albert Museum, which she attended in May. In distinguishing Ornellaia’s auction from others in the world of fine wine, Rand writes, “…this was an auction in aid of charity. It was showcasing Ornellaia as a patron of the arts and a supporter of a good cause, and it was of the bottles, magnums, double magnums, imperials and one salmanazar that constituted the 2015 vintage of Orneillaia artist’s bottles. (The artist for 2015 is William Kentridge.) Ornellaia does this every year, in one city or another, with a different artist every vintage, and the sale is always in aid of a charitable cause.” You can read the full story here.
