Château Boutisse 2018 (90-93 VM) (90-92)

“A perennial over-achiever (I still have a few bottles of the 2000), the 2018 Château Boutisse is 92% Merlot with the balance Cabernet Franc, Carmenere, and Cabernet Sauvignon, all from the cooler Saint-Christophe-de-Bardes region of Saint-Emilion. Medium to full-bodied, plump, and beautifully textured, it has moderate acidity, a fleshy texture, and ripe, forward notes of red plums, black cherries, and spice. It should be an outstanding wine and drink well for over a decade.”
