Masciarelli Marina Cvetic Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2018 (92 VM)
“The captivating 2018 Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Riserva pulls you close to the glass with an elegant display of baked apples and pears complemented by exotic florals and hints of confectionary spice. Its textures are silky-smooth, casting mineral-tinged orchard fruits across a medium-bodied frame, with sweet herbs and a hint of vanilla bean coming forward toward the close. The 2018 is harmonious and elegant from start to finish, yet also youthfully dense, leaving a contrasting mix of nectarine and custard to fizzle out upon the senses.”
The Trebbiano Riserva Marina Cvetic represents the ultimate expression for the estate of one of the historical vines of Abruzzo. Like Montepulciano, Trebbiano was once thought to be a workhorse grape without the potential to produce great wine. The interpretation of this wine is original and has a character. Marina Cvetic wines have full body and are elegant and are a “lone voice” for the most demanding and technical experts.
Founded by Abruzzo native Gianni Masciarelli in 1981, Masciarelli and its wines have become the standard-bearer for the Abruzzo region, and an inspiration to all emerging Italian wine regions. After a summer in Champagne, Gianni Masciarelli became convinced that world-class wines could be produced in Abruzzo, and through tremendous vision and non-stop innovation, Masciarelli became one of the most admired wineries in Italy.
