Villa Gemma Colline Teatine Bianco 2019

Colline Teatine IGT

While the Villa Gemma Montepulciano was the wine that announced Abruzzo to the world, the Bianco, created just a year later, further defined what the region and grapes of Abruzzo could produce. This wine, first released in 1985, speaks to the white grape varieties specific to the region and has become on of the most exciting wines produced at the estate

James Suckling "Plenty of green apple, lemon and some crushed stone on the nose and palate. Medium to full body and a tangy, minerally aftertaste."

Marina Cvetic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2018

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC

The Montepulciano Marina Cvetic represents an intense and remarkable expression of one of the historical vines of Abruzzo.  The 100% Montepulciano comes from eight of the estate's top parcels, across an altitude of 500 to 1,200 feet above sea level, on soils of calcareous clay and lime.  In these vineyards, we find not only the traditional Abruzzo pergola vine training, but also Simple Guyot and Spur Cordon as well.

Marina Cvetic Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2018

Trebbiano d'Abruzzo

The Trebbiano Riserva Marina Cvetic represents the ultimate expression for the estate of one of the historical vines of Abruzzo.  Like Montepulciano, Trebbiano was once thought to be a workhorse grape without the potential to produce great wine. The interpretation of this wine is original and has a character. Marina Cvetic wines have full body and are elegant and are a “lone voice” for the most demanding and technical experts.

James Suckling  "A white with sliced-lime, ripe-pear and some green-apple character. It’s full-bodied with a dense palate and a vivid, creamy finish. Some vanilla and pralines."

Villa Gemma Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2015

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Villa Gemma is the wine that announced Abruzzo to the world, showcasing what the region and grapes of Abruzzo could produce. Villa Gemma Montepulciano Riserva is the only Italian wine with 14 consecutive Tre Bicchieri awards and, more importantly, was the wine that established Abruzzo as capable of making truly distinct, extraordinary wines. Villa Gemma Montepulciano Riserva is a powerfully – almost undeniably – intense wine of character and complexity.

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2018

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

The first line created by Gianni Masciarelli has become over the years a landmark for the company and its customers, in addition to being the most consistent and known, in Italy and abroad. Its wines, Montepulciano D’Abruzzo DOC, Trebbiano D’Abruzzo DOC, and Rosato IGT Colline Teatine are today “a classic”, which can reflect the genuine taste of tradition and the quality of Abruzzo native vines.

There are no revidews for this wine, yet.

Marina Cvetic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2017

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC

The Montepulciano Marina Cvetic represents an intense and remarkable expression of one of the historical vines of Abruzzo.  The 100% Montepulciano comes from eight of the estate's top parcels, across an altitude of 500 to 1,200 feet above sea level, on soils of calcareous clay and lime.  In these vineyards, we find not only the traditional Abruzzo pergola vine training, but also Simple Guyot and Spur Cordon as well.

James Suckling "A red with plenty of ripe-berry, tar, ash and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied and layered with lots of fruit and flavor."

Trebbiano d’Abruzzo 2019

Trebbiano d'Abruzzo

Just as Masciarelli made a name for Abruzzo's Montepulciano grape, they also elevated the quality and reputation of the Trebbiano grape. The particular Trebbiano in Abruzzo is a relative of the grape planted in many other areas of Italy, in the climate and soils of Abruzzo when farmed for quality, it produces a wine with fantastically expressive fruit and a gorgeous balance of round concentration and mineral freshness.

Villa Gemma Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo 2019

Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC

Perhaps the finest rosé production area in Italy, and one of the few appellations dedicated only to rosé, Cerasuolo has a long history of producing serious rosé, and showcasing how well the Montepulciano grape is adapted to rosé. Masciarelli first produced this wine in 1986, only 5 years after the winery was founded. With deep fruit and structure but no shortage of pleasure, it is a rosé you can take to the dinner table.

James Suckling "Bright, pale cherry-red color. Lots of ripe strawberries on the nose here, with some peach and rose-petal jam, too. A medium-to full-bodied Cerasuolo rosé with medium acidity and pronounced red-fruit…

Wine Enthusiast "This vibrantly hued cherry-red Cerasuolo kicks off with brisk aromas of red-apple peel and Morello cherry, underpinned by a soft washed cheese-rind note. The palate is rounded and well integrated,…

Vinous Media "The 2019 Villa Gemma Cerasuolo shows depth of rich red berry fruits on the nose, complemented by notes of sweet sage, a hint of lemon, and crushed stone. On the…

James Suckling "What a nose of vanilla and butterscotch, in unison with mangoes, dried apricots and jack fruit. Full-bodied and decadent for a white, but nicely tuned by the vibrant acidity."

Wine Advocate "With fruit culled from the gorgeous, hilly landscape of San Martino sulla Marrucina, the Marina Cvetić 2017 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Riserva ultimately shows more intensity on the bouquet than it does…

Rosato Colline Teatine 2019

Colline Teatine IGT

Abruzzo and the Montepulciano grape are famous for making arguably the finest rosé in Italy, from one of the only appellations in Italy dedicated 100% to rosé, Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo. This rosato is the little sister, a fresh, totally delightful expression.

James Suckling "Salmon-pink color. Lots of strawberries and stewed cherries on the nose. It’s medium-bodied and crisp with notes of bitter red apple skin and pip."
